For over 10 years Kawartha Centre geriatricians have supervised geriatric training rotations to Queen’s University Family Medicine residents. The residents learn to conduct neurocognitive assessments, and to identify the various aspects of dementia, as well as the complex issues of frailty.   A wide variety of clinical settings, including our clinic, the GAIN clinics and the hospital, are used to help them develop a systematic approach in assessing and care planning for the elderly patient.

By special arrangement, our Nurse Assessors can offer neurocognitive assessment training to primary care practice nurses, as well as ongoing support if needed.
